HAGATNA, GUAM –Junior Achievement Guam will be kicking off their annual Company Program this Saturday, August 31 at the Agana Shopping Center. The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
Our kick-off event will cater to students and families interested in the JA Guam organization and our Company Program, wherein high school students will be able to gain real-world experience by creating their own companies with the help and mentorship of our company sponsors.
The event will start with introducing enrolled JA students to their company sponsors, whom they will partner with for the next 16 weeks. However, high school students who were not able to sign up beforehand but are interested in the program will also be able to apply and be matched with a company at the event.
For this program cycle there are 8 company sponsors:
• Bank of Guam;
• Bank of Hawaii;
• Coast 360 Federal Credit Union;
• Ernst & Young;
• Pacific Islands Club;
• and United.
In addition to our company sponsors, JA’s Company Program is also supported by Guam Community College DECA programs and the Guam Department of Education.
Each company sponsor will have a dedicated space at the event where they will showcase their skills and experience for students to see first-hand. The event will also include games and activities for attendees. Each game and activity will showcase JA Guam’s commitment to teaching youths about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy.
This event would not be possible without the help and support of our company sponsors, students, parents, teachers, GEDA and all our corporate donors.
JA Guam is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching youths about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literary, and has served more than 5,000 Guam students since 1976.
