JA Guam Company Virtual Program all set for kick off

Friday, September 18, 2020

With the mentors training complete, the JA Guam Virtual Company Program is all set for its virtual kick off.  The students and company mentors will be joined by the JA Guam Board through the Zoom app to celebrate its 45th year and kick off the annual program.  The program will be hosted on Saturday, September 19, 2020 and begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. with registered high school students receiving their invitation through email.  The informative event includes the announcement of participating companies, and an activity specifically prepared for the students.  The kick off will give an opportunity for the students to meet with their mentors and begin the phase of building their company program.

The sponsored teams vying for the coveted Company of the Year Award include Bank of Guam, Bank of Hawaii, Community First Federal Credit Union, Creative Indeed, Docomo Pacific, GTA, KUAM, Title Guaranty of Guam, Tiyan High School GCC Marketing Class and John F. Kennedy High School.

Students will attend weekly on-line session with their sponsored company and will be provided an insight into the development of a business structure.  Students will learn the organization background of a business, create, market, and eventually sell their product or service.  They will also learn how to liquidate a company towards the end of the 16-week structure.  The virtual program will showcase each company’s prowess as they produce an annual report, compete in a business presentation, and sell their products at trade fairs.

Registration is currently on-going through out website portal at https://ja-guam.org/home-company-program/.

JA Guam would like to express our sincere appreciation to our partners:  Presenting Partner Guam Economic Development Authority, Bank of Guam, Bank of Hawaii, SBDC Guam, Triple J Enterprises, GTA, IBSS and United Airlines.
