Saturday, September 25, 2021 – Virtual Zoom platform

Junior Achievement Guam kicked off the 2021-2022 virtual Company Program via the zoom platform on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with just over 100 registered students attending.
The event included an introduction to the 2021-2022 Executive Board Members and program, an address by the JA Guam Board Chairman Joey Miranda III and a special message from the JA Asia Pacific President Maziar Sabet. Miranda announced the inclusion of the Resume and Interview Skills and the Financial Literacy programs as well as the opening of the new JA Guam Office/workspace where students will be able to meet and sell their products, provided restrictions are lifted.
It continued with the JA Guam partners inclusive of the presenting partner Guam Economic Development Authority and Guam Regional Medical City, Bank of Hawaii, GTA Teleguam, Bank of Guam and SBDC.
This year’s program sponsors include Bank of Hawaii, GTA Teleguam, Bank of Guam, Title Guaranty of Guam, United Airlines, Community First Federal Credit Union and The Guam Daily Post. In-school programs will be presented at John F. Kennedy High School, Okkodo High School, Southern High School and Tiyan High School.
The donors were also acknowledged during the ceremony including Coast 360 Federal Credit Union, Rotary Club of Guam, KUAM, Murphy Enterprises Inc.. Graphic Center, Guam Pak Express, AC HVAC Pros and Tom Tajalle.
After a brief history of JA Guam, the Board Vice-Chairperson Erlinda Alegre closed the event formalities expressing her gratitude to everyone, most especially our students and wished them the best for their company program.
The event continued with an ice-breaking activity where all eight student companies were placed into breakout rooms to discuss their preferences amongst different subject matters and then presented to the group as a whole.
After presentations were made, JA Guam Executive Director introduced the Business Ethics course in collaboration with Deloitte and JA Singapore which will be hosted on October 2 and 9 via the online platform and extended their invitation to all our students. Information on their meeting dates were also disseminated and students were asked to invite their friends to join the program. The one-hour virtual kick off closed with a thank you remark from the Executive Director.
