With JA Guam’s participating Companies having elected their officers during the third session of the program, the officers took part in their first official training session. The Company Program President, Vice Presidents of Marketing, Finance and Production all gathered virtually to work alongside JA Guam Board members who facilitated their roles and responsibilities.

There are eight company programs for the school year 2021-2022 which will run through February 2022. The company program includes Bank of Guam mentoring students from John F. Kennedy High School, Bank of Hawaii assisting students from Southern High School, Community First Federal Credit Union working with students from Okkodo High School, GTA, The Guam Post, Title Guaranty of Guam, Tiyan High School and United Airlines.
In the coming weeks the company’s task include incorporating their Company Name, Charter and By-Laws, mission, vision, and values. Thereafter, they will brain storm on their products that best represents their company. Each member is required to sell company stocks to come up with their capital.

The students will learn the pillars of Junior Achievement Worldwide such as financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship. At the end of the program, the company officers will represent their organization in the Company of the Year competition where they will display their products in a trade fair booth, answer questions from Judges and present an on-stage Business presentation. The program will close with an awards ceremony.
